OVERVIEW Newlands Corner is famous for being the place from where Agatha Christie staged her own disappearance in 1926. Her car was found abandoned in chalk pits and there was a Nationwide hunt. Several days later she turned up in a hotel in Harrogate registered under her husband's mistresess's name. St. Martha's Church is isolated at the top of St. Martha's Hill with great views of the surrounding countryside and is believed to date from the 12th Century. |
