OVERVIEW Venford Dam was built in 1907 out of Dartmoor Granite to supply water to the seaside resort of Paignton. Two Thirds of Dartmoor National Park is a single impervious granite block which determines the topography which comprises wide sweeping moorland dotted with rocky outcrops known as tors. |
