OVERVIEW Roundshaw Park is generally open heathland with great views of Croydon and South London, and is the site of the first London Airport. The only tarmac is what's left of the area that the old aircraft use to taxi on before taking off. You could stand there and wave a piece of paper about saying that you have spoken to Herr Hitler and you have peace in our time as per Neville Chamberlain circa 1938! Or perhaps come running down from the top of the park pretending you are Amy Johnston about to land after flying back solo from some far flung part of the British Empire! Park suggestion and info given by John Gannon.
