OVERVIEW Knole Park is a 1,000 acre park with Knole House, built in the 15th century and country home to Henry VIII and Elisabeth I and now a National Trust property, as its centrepiece. The park has a herd of over 500 fallow deer roaming free and is a haven for other wildlife and beautiful trees. As for running, the Park is criss-crossed with numerous paths and trails enabling runners to plan loops of between 3 and 7 miles, both on and off-road. The terrain is varied with long, loping "gallops" (where the Royals used to race their horses), to challenging hills and leafy, secluded trails. Various races are held in Knole Park throughout the year including the Sevenoaks Seven, the Knole Park 10k and the Sevenoaks Triathlon. Local clubs include Sevenoaks Athletic Club and Sevenoaks TriClub. Dogs allowed but need to be kept on leads. Park recommended by Richard Thomes. Parking is free for National Trust members.
