OVERVIEW The route through the park is generally flat with minor undulations, although there is the choice of taking some of the paths up the banks for some added incline. Its a long, narrow park which means proximity of lakes. There is a bowling green, trees and a bandstand in the centre of the park which makes it more interesting. There are open spaces for ball games/picnics, tennis courts for general hire (£5 per hour), bowls green, war memorial, formal gardens and lakes to enjoy and woodland further into the park. The park is popular with joggers in the evening. Dogs need to be on leads. There is no specific parking for the park but there is a p&d multi-storey in the town centre, barely half a mile away and lots of on-street parking close by. Info and photos supplied by Martin Allen.
