OVERVIEW

This park is an ideal site for running it has ash pathways, a wooded area and lakes to cool off in. It was built on the site of an open cast mine and has some good hills. Lots of wildlife and birdlife, excellent car parking. BMX track and skatepark. Toilet facilities. Even an adventure play area for the kiddies. The park runs can be extended onto Penshaw Monument which sits on a hill at about 300 metres above sea level.
