OVERVIEW

There is a 9 mile signposted trail around the lake using some tarmac paths and some footpaths. The reservoir was formed during 1974 and 1979 by damming the River Haddeo, a tributary of the Exe. The water from Wimbleball Lake is used to supply Exeter, Mid Devon, East Devon, a small part of North Devon and West Somerset. There are various activities available on the lake including watersports and fishing. Note that the cafe is seasonal.
