Hey friends of GRG! My PB for a 5k is 17mins 40secs, I have never trained specifically for a fast 5k it kind of just happened by accident after a multi marathon event I completed this year. I am looking for advice on what the best training schedule is and if anyone would like to offer some of the training plans that worked best for them. I will get 15 minutes eventually just looking for a kick start! Cheers! |

Hi Mark, Love the ambition! That is a top goal and will take a lot of work. I never got there but resonably close i suppose and you do have youth on your side. Lots of tempo and track work is what is required. You have the background from your marathon exploits so cut the miles and up the speed! Looking forward to seeing how you progress. Thanks Andy/Martin - Started track work on Friday and it went well, mile time of 5min 09secs, long way to go to string them together but ill get there, cheers, M |
