Hi all, I moved to Oxford in October to do a masters, but have not yet found any decent runs that I could do in the evenings. It won't be so bad in the summer while there's enough light to go round the parks, but are there any circular routes along the roads with decent streetlighting and pavements for the winter months? Any suggestions would be very welcome. Thanks! |

Leah I had the same problem - where I live is perfect in the summer but there are no street lights at all. So I Googled the running clubs in the nearest town and went along as a guest on their Thursday evening run. They showed me a couple of well lit routes varying from 5, 7 & 12 miles. I'm sure they will help you in the same way in Oxford...

Run with a head torch and a hold another torch in one or both hands. Wear reflective clothing.........Thats how i manage the country roads in winter. Dont worry about the dark- just explore!! |
