Hi Mark,

thats some challenge. Having looked at the website I'm still wondering aobut the logistics of the run is it 50 x 26.2 with 6 days rest? Why 56 days?

Are you doning some official marthons along the way?

and of course being a competivive soul, wondering about your previous marathons and races and what were your times?

Cheers

Andy

Hi Andy,

Thanks for getting in touch with me. The logistics are basically i will start in Amsterdam and run 26.2 miles where at the end i will stop and the support team will take me to the nearest town or place of interest, we will film some stuff for the documentary and then rest. The team will then drive me back to the exact place where i finished the previous day and i will run another 26.2 miles and so on until we reach Barcelona.

Ferelith who is researching the route is currently trying to find some official marathons to take part in as this would lead to more exposure and possible help from the places i run through.

The only reason i decided on 56 days was to round it up to a nice even 8 weeks, i am considering snubbing out the 6 days of rest and just going for it without a day off. It is more for my mental state, running 6 marathons with a day off each week apart from two weeks will be hard enough but starting on day one with no day off for 50 days will be something that will challenge my mental state even more.

I have never ran in an organised marathon but i do a marathon distance every Sunday and my best time was 3hr 33min 12sec. Was pretty happy with that. Although i am not putting a time limit on the actual trip marathons i am aiming personally to do them all in under 4hr 30mins.

If there is any advice or help you or anyone think they can offer that would be great! Everyone has been so helpful, it is a little overwhelming at times!

Anyway, i look forward to hearing from you again.

Warmest regards

Mark
