Hi all, Just signed up for the Asics British 10K London Run, on 10th July. Pricey at £35, but that includes chip timing, T-shirt, goody bag, and photo. The official course map is next to useless, so I have mapped the route on here (using a few different routes I found submitted by others on various websites - so it is probably not accurate) and shared it with everyone. Has anyone done this race before, and is anyone planning to do it this year? Is it a good race? It looks to be a good scenic route around many of the major London landmarks. Cheers, Ian |

Hi Ian, yes i did this last year for charity as i usually avoid both races on the road and mass participation events. However i have to say i enjoyed it, although quite a ocnvoluted course and to get a view of St Pauls you have to look striaght up at the right spot, apparently, as i never saw it. There is absolutely no grading in terms of time so its first to get there to get a spot reasonably near the front. We were there an hour before the start and it still took a mile of running before you could run rather than weave around all the fancy dress stuff. It is fun to watch all the other runners gong back and forward on the switchbacks though. Enjoy! Andy |

Thanks Andy. I did notice when plotting the course that St Pauls would be essentially invisible as you would be either in an underpass or hidden by buildings, and you don't get anywhere near Tower Bridge (despite what the official map seems to show!) That said the other landmarks all seem to be en-route, and it will be fun running through areas where I'd normally be avoiding the crowds :o)
