Hi Mike, I have a pair of Nike Pegasus Trail Shoes and they are fine for the road as the tread pattern is not what I would call true trail and are of more a multi purpose all rounder. My trail shoe of choice is the Inov8 Talons which are rubber stud and would not be suitable for too much roadwork as the studs will wear quite quickly. I have just brought a pair of Asics Kinsei as I need the cushioning due to a bit of leg trouble and also putting in 45 miles plus per week pounding the streets, but they are quite stiff due to the structure and I could not see myself racing in them. My road race shoe is the Nike Lunarglide which is light and quite flexible, it does not have a lot of cushioning but a race does not equate to the miles I put in training weekly so it's a compromise. |
