Let me start by saying i hadnt run til the beginning of the year. Im now 60 run parkrun regularly go out running when I can and have now done 4 10k races. I run at my comfortable pace ( dont want to drop dead). I usually do my parkruns in 32 mins. Did todays 10k in 70 mins due to mixed terrain course. My questions is can I do a 10 mile race how will it feel? Ideally i would like to do one in two weeks time as its in memory of someone. What does everyone think? I could run more up to event and I could swim more and get into gym or would I really feel it would be too much too soon. Your comments would be appreciated thanks Brenda |

Go for it Brenda- the adrenalin will drive u those extra miles. I am 56 and had completed a few 10ks & embarked on my 1st 9.5 mile trail run at the weekend. It was fab and challenging but my legs still felt good at the end. ur times look good, I am slower than u but I love getting the biggest cheers at the end of the races. go at your own pace & enjoy & think of who you are doing it for. Good Luck. |
