I've had an inflamed lower inside of knee for 4 weeks now, doctor says its bursitis and I need to have an injection to remove fluid. Has anybody else had this and how quickly were you back running? |

Stephen - I have been running with a bursitis "bubble" under the arch of my foot for ten months now - it comes and goes, sometimes it is rock hard, other times it softens. My GP basically said if it doesn't impede your running then leave it alone and it has not got any bigger during a year in which I have 800 running miles on it, including 2 full marathons. I appreciate a knee could be entirely different, and finally a physio that I see said it could be drained but would in all probability just fill up again! So, not very helpful I suppose, but that is my experience - personlly I would avoid a needle until I absolutely had no other options, not because I'm squeamish but I am just not inconvenienced by it. I hope yours is the same! |
