Hi all,

I am having problems with blisters on my feet whenevery i run over 30 mins. Both of my feet get them and they are just behind the ball of my big toe just on the arch. Ive tried two pairs of socks, Tightening my running shoes but nothing seems to work. My current running shoes are NB and are only about 3 months old so dont really want to buy new again. Is there anything i can wear or buy that may help.

Hi Kate,

Yes i am wearing running socks Hillys. It did happen in my other shoes but not as bad. I will try Vaseline but as i am now running further i.e 60 mins not sure if that will last. as ive already said i dont want to buy another pair of shoes because my current pair where fitted by a running shop and were not cheap. Im off to run in the new forest later so will let you know if the vaseline worked. Hopefully it wont be to muddy or wet. LOL

Hi All,

I think i have cured the problem. I now stick surgical tape to the area where the blisters are and have run twice like this and so far no blisters. I am hoping this will carry on working and maybe once the area has recovered will be able to run without it. It feels great to run again without pain.

Fortunately I have never to date suffered from blisters although I do tend to have one or two hard skin areas that I treat lightly with pumice now and again. But on the subject of socks, I have all sorts from double layer anklets, padded handed (or should I say footed) socks and also lightweight type, some of which cost a small fortune to buy. But without a doubt the bast pair of socks I brought was some unknown brand of knee length handed compression sock from Aldi's for £4.

So it just shows that sometimes taking a punt on a cheap pair can pay dividends, I am on the lookout for another couple of pairs.
