21/07/13 The route is completely open again, there is a slight change at 1.5 miles (and coming back) where the river path is finished and you go straight on instead of turning right.

Ran this today (24/12/10) and the path is open again. There is earth moving work sometimes at the open stretch further on just bofore the Dome - so watch out for the JCBs.

There is earth moving work sometimes at the open stretch further on just bofore the Dome - so watch out for the JCBs, they are not there all the time and the path generally stays open but if they are working wait for a gap, they will usually stop or beckon you through.

Hi

I put this route up a couple of years back.

Currently (20/03/10) the path is blocked for demolition work at 1.2 miles - there is a way round which involves running close to the A102 for a few hundred yards. Christchurch Way/Azof Street/Blackwall Lane/Tunnel Avenue/alongside Blackwall Tunnel approach, then cut back down the path to the left about opposite the gasholder, to rejoin the old route.

I''ll post when this section reopens.

Yes, that would be a good alternative, I like a bit of industrial grit though! In the spring/summer the bit up to the Woolwich Road is actually quite picturesque with the trees in bloom.
