Fantastic route. Any time out of dry weather consider shoes with good grip - it gets fairly exciting on some of the down hill descents. Where you are told to turn right through the gate at the bottom of the first hill is actually through private property (according to the sign on the gate). However, it's a short piece of hard surface and it's reasonably well hidden from view. If your morals are stronger than ours you can follow the footpath to the left and cut back right later. Probably another 400m. Coming down into Piddington the map is not as clear as it could be. You want to end up at the south side of the village almost near the sign marking the entrance to the village. It's an obvious path between two high hedges on the far side of the A40 - but there's a bit of route finding to get to the A40. The map seems to be missing a road from when you cross the first stile to enter the village. We did it by crossing the stile and heading right. When you hit the first road, turn right again (parallel to the A40) to head south and then take the first left to join the A40. The footpath should be directly opposite if you do it this way. Avoid piling through the allotments... Superb running - well worth driving to - but tough going. You need to be a strong runner to get up one of the hills (well - stronger than us!).
