I did the Bewl Half (organised by Hermes running) a couple of years ago - a different race I think but in the same place. It's a beautiful location, but not easy! |

If you live in or visit this area and you enjoy your trail runs then you''ve got to give this a go! I was lucky enough to have blue sky and warm temperatures and with starting out early-ish I had most of the trail to myself for the duration. The suggested car park/start point is actually easy to find at the end of a narrow road - I found it no probs with my satnav. Great views and very calming. In the shaded wooded areas it can get pretty muddy so don''t expect to come back clean! The grassy paths around the reservoir are well trodden by horses, people, dogs and bikes so whilst compact it''s not flat-packed - beware of turning an ankle or getting thrown off the path and losing your rhythm a bit. Not a negative by any stretch, but more a word of caution. Really enjoyable and I''ll be back for more when I next visit the area. | |||||
