Hi. i am hooked on this race. Quite magnificent. This will be my 4th time. After your first time you can become a 3 year "Great Run" member which guarantees you entry for the next 3 years. The weather is usually good but the last 2 years it was cloudy. Good for the run but spolis the view of the red arrows. Their display is unbelievable and worth running 13 miles to see it. The crowds, the organisation, the music and people along the way are the best. The final run along the seafront in South Shields is also fantastic, the cool sea breeze hits you as the large crowds come into view. Accomodation goes very quickly and is expensive. Try Middlesborough or Durham and drive or catch the train in on the day. I am quite sure you will enjoy every minute. |

Hi Folks I'm so excited! I've been successful in my application for the Great North Run! I'll be running on behalf of the Down's Syndrome Association. I've started this topic for all of us that may run it, and for anyone who has run it before to give tips advice and general banter! God Bless Adrian |
