Hi Philip, it'll need a very big commitment but of course it's totally possible. I think you just need to be realistic about what you hope to achieve in terms of a time, and train accordingly. The key is to build up your distances gradually - which I know you've already been doing - and also use shorter runs to help your speed. If your goal is to get round the course, then yes - it's 100% possible. There are plenty of training programmes you can follow which will help you to do that. |

Decided to apply for 2012 VLM,started exercising dec 2010,more walking than running,ok with distance,completed 3 x 11milers, 2x13.5 miles,plus run wlk alternate days 2-4miles.Entered for walking half (wiv bit of jogging),in june,if i persevere with training regular,and hopefully get a place nxt year,is my plan to do 1st full marathon nxt year feasable?.any advice for a novice?.thanks
