Thanks for the advice Kate - I think your might be absolutley right, we've definately got a bit set in our ways with regards to routes and distances maybe it's tme to freshen things up a bit with some fartlek sessions and not get too hung up on times.

Thanks again

Paul

Hi,

I have been running with a friend for just over a year now and thoroughly enjoy it.

In the last month we have taken part in our first 5K and 10k organised races and completed them in 28mins and 1hr 48secs! Not great times compared to most but we were happy and enjoyed taking part.

Since the weather has improved, we've started running twice a week 5/6 miles each time but our times have really suffered - up to 6 minutes slower on some routes than previous runs.

I'd appreciate some advice from more experienced runners, could this be adjustment to the extra miles (my legs feel heavy sometimes) or the warmer spring weather after cold winter runs?

Any advice woudld be appreciated, after lots of slow improvement we seem to be going backwards!

Thanks

Paul
