22 miles went fine, had sore feet at the end of it and my toe is sore again, but I will rest it and not do too much running and see if it recovers, really enjoyed the 22 miles and felt really good after it |

Thanks all. I decided, that as well as resting and stretching I have put in some better insoles and that seems to have helped, so I think a mixture of rest and better insoles seems to have alleviated the worst of it, I will know better after my 22 miles tomorrow |

Hey, good luck with your marathon! I havent had any pain like you describe but I do get very stiff big toes when I am in high mileage, it can be a real problem, not at the moment but later on in life and can even be a threat to running. I have been told to stretch out my big toes, just by pulling them back and holding for 30 seconds and repeating, I do it at my desk. Not sure if this is helpful but I wanted to post something to help you, Again good luck |

A new one on me i'm afraid, and judging by the lack of response everyone else, but you would expect a few things to ache on the marathon training. You've nearly made it to the taper so just try icing it, some light massage may help also, and some gentle stretching maybe. What stretching that would be i don't know! |

After my 19 LSR last week, I noticed an ache on top of my big toes, I realise it appears to be coming from the tendon that runs across the foot and into the toe. I have done a couple of runs since and never noticed anything, but on a slow run last night I did notice it getting more sore as I ran. I do tend to break my runs up, from road to beach to trail and I wondered if I could have injured it in some way, it is strange that it seems to be on top of my toe. With my 1st Marathon only a month away I don't want to make it worse, anyone ever had this happen to them. |
