Description

The Dartmoor VOLCANO race was the first race of the pureTRAIL race series. Now it's back for a 5th year!

A 10.25 mile race over rough Moorland tracks and trails, with almost 500m of ascent.

100% pureTRAIL. 

A high level route touches southern Dartmoor's highest point, Ryder's Hill and traversing rocky, boggy and sometimes extremely 'technical' terrain before reaching the focal point of the Race.....the Red Lake Volcano. 

The race has the feel and attitude of a north-country fell race and includes :-

3 river crossings
1 Clapper Bridge crossing
2 Bogs
1 Volcano ascent
1 long uphill start
1 long downhill finish

Start time 11:00

Fully marked and marshaled course.

Bespoke medal for all finishers.

Event T-shirts can be purchased through the SiEntries system at anytime. 

The race starts and finishes in the village of Scorriton, (TQ110JB) on the edge of Dartmoor. 4 miles off the A38, Buckfastleigh/Ashburton junction.

Race held under Trail Running Association guidelines, permission of Dartmoor National Park Authority and the land owners.

Sorry no dogs allowed on the course with competitiors due to Insurance and Permit limitations
